Payroll & Business Operations Specialist

The Rooter Company is hiring a Payroll & Business Operations Specialist in Brea, CA, paying $55,000 to $60,000 a year. You will process weekly payroll, manage accounts payable and receivable, and keep the office running smoothly alongside our HR, operations, dispatch, and leadership teams. This is a full-time, onsite role that requires at least 3 years of payroll processing experience.

Who You Are:

• You are highly organized and detail-oriented, and you take pride in getting every paycheck and invoice right.

• You thrive in a fast-paced service environment and can juggle multiple priorities at once.

• You handle confidential employee, customer, and company information with professionalism and discretion.

• You bring 3+ years of payroll processing experience, 2+ years of accounting, AP, AR, or bookkeeping experience, and 1+ year of administrative support experience.

• You have a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, plus intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

• You bring a plus with ADP, ServiceTitan, or QuickBooks experience, a degree in accounting, finance, or business, or a field service background.

What You Will Do Each Day:

• Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including time records, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices and prepare weekly accounts payable batches.

• Apply customer payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and prepare AR aging reports.

• Support account reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and audit requests.

• Assist HR with new hires, terminations, payroll changes, and onboarding paperwork.

• Maintain business records and support ServiceTitan data entry, reporting, and technician documentation.
